One morning I felt something funny and new,
my front tooth was loose, what a thing to wake to!
I pushed it with my finger, I gave it a test,
of all my teeth, it moved more than the rest.
"I'm becoming a big boy!" I said with a cheer,
but then a small feeling crept up, something like fear.
What if he hurts? What if he cries?
What if the tooth leaves without saying goodbye?
How this book is made
Ahaan tells the story out loud, his dad writes it down, and the two of them work together on the illustrations until every page feels right. It's a slow, careful process, and it's carried this book all the way from a first telling to a finished, published paperback.
